1. Where can I check my grade? Where are my assignments posted?
Please go to the Pinnacle Online Gradebook. Your student should have their username and password. If they do not, please contact the office. All grades are live and are updated weekly. Assignments are turned in on Edmodo unless stated otherwise. Students have their usernames and passwords, and parent usernames can also be provided. Please e-mail me for assistance with either Pinnacle or Edmodo.
2. What kinds of assignments will I complete in class?
Students complete reading assignments, journals, questions based on reading, writing assignments, group projects, and more. All assignments are posted on the student's Digital Agendas (posted on EdModo and under the "Digital Agendas" folder for each class' Google Drive.
3. Do I have homework?
Absolutely! Students may be given specific homework assignments, but they also should always be working on Achieve3000, Wordly Wise, and their Reading Response Assignments. Finally, students' additional homework is to finish their assignments from class. Please have them refer to their Digital Agendas for these assignments.
4. I notice that I am failing. How can I bring my grade up?
Missing assignments often cause grades to drop. Do you have missing assignments from this week (or last week) that could be made up? If so, please talk to me about finishing those assignments.
5. What is a "Z" on Pinnacle? What is an "X"? What is a blank?
A "Z" is a zero, and the assignment has not been turned in. An "X" is an excused assignment, and the student is not responsible for it. A blank indicates that the assignment has not been graded yet.
6. When are your tutoring hours?
I am available Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
